Heading Nowhere Fast

We have come to the end of another busy and unpredictable year. This year has had more ups and downs than a yo-yo. With this President and the changing matrix of Congress where we are headed is anyone’s guess. My prayer for the new year is that the politicians put aside their petty arguments and personal beliefs and start working for the people who voted them into office in the first place. Unfortunately I do not see that happening.

More and more of the public seems to becoming disenfranchised from the political spectrum. The politicians seem more and more in love with themselves and their personal positions than they do about you and I. My fear for the new year is an even more dysfunctional Washington; if that is even possible. The Democratic takeover of Congress will fuel their hatred of this President even more. Instead of working to make things better for all, they will waste time and money on constant attacks against the White House. While much of it may be justified, and in many cases warranted, what good does it do for the general public?  Nothing!

The arrogant Republicans will continue to circle their wagons to protect their bases and refuse to discuss anything of great importance.

What will happen to the thousands out of work because of the shut-down of the government? What happens to the many programs adversely impacted by this stupid shut-down? Obviously these politicians do not care about the people they represent. They still collect their salaries and benefits. All we hear out of Washington is lies, bullying tactics and personal grievances. All white noise to you and I. It is a white noise that is deafening at times.

I have tired of listening to the ultra-liberal Democratic politicians and groups tell me what is right and wrong. I have tired of hearing that we must take every illegal immigrant who crosses the border. What I do not hear is what they want to do for the taxpaying and legal residents of this country. As for the other unrealistic positions of that liberal arm of the Democratic Party, because of political correctness I cannot comment on them.

As for the Republican Party, I expect nothing. They offer nothing of substance to the middle class. Almost everything they discuss and laws they change benefits the top 1% and business interests. Whether it is gutting environmental laws or attacking minorities with the denial of basic human rights, this party has circled the drain with their unfettered love affair with Trump. They have sold their moral compass for 4 years (?) of turmoil and enrichment for the wealthy while the rest of us sink in a quagmire of uncertainty.

The reality is that most of Washington is a cesspool. Trump promised to drain the “swamp” but has only dirtied the water even more. His administration is the most corrupt that I have ever witnessed. That is hard to believe after the Clinton administration. He wants to fill his administration with nothing but ass-kissers and yes man/women. It seems as if more qualified people have either been pushed or jumped off the deck of the USS Trump than the Titanic. Every day brings a new story out of Washington that offends the morals of this great country. Today many in the administration are praised to the highest level and the next day they are castigated and cast aside with a litany of childish names. All because they had the audacity of not following Trump and the administration’s positions, like the trained monkeys Trump wants. Shame on President Trump and the people who blindly follow his antics to the detriment of this country.

At some point “we the people” must be heard. “We the people” put these people in their positions. “We the people” must be recognized and listened to. If the Democrats in Congress do not take heed and put their childish personal beliefs behind them, they will lose. Conversely, after this past election, if the Republics do not wake up and realize that the general public is tired of the crap they are putting out, they will lose. If the two parties cannot get together on things of greater importance than some stupid wall and illegal immigration, we will all lose. Come the next election cycle, “We the people” have the power to make that happen!

Republicans and Democrats alike - Get it together or Get the Hell Out!

That is the absolute bottom line!
