Thank You

      First, I would like to “thank” the membership of Branch 6000 that they had the confidence in electing me as their Executive Vice President. I would also like to “thank” the membership for the vote of confidence in electing the entire Executive Board of Branch 6000 by acclamation.

     This Branch has worked hard for its membership in the past and will continue to do that in the future by representing the members to the best of our ability. This Branch is recognized throughout the Nation as one of the top Branches out there. Richard McLehose will make a great President in making sure our interests here on Long Island and Far Rockaway are well represented at the National level.

     This Branch goes out of its way to train and educate not only the shop stewards but the members of the Branch by conducting shop steward training classes and training classes for the membership, when need be, or when management is trying to shove another policy or way to deliver mail down our throats.   The Branch educates its executive board members by trainings and seminars that we attend that are taught by Reginal, State and National Officers along with the training that the Branch conducts.

     This Branch every year sends a group of members to Washington D.C. to lobby Congress on your behalf to protect the rights and benefits of the letter carrier and to make sure our voice is heard in D.C.!

     I have been a full-time officer for Branch 6000 for 20 years and have come up the ranks from trustee, to Sgt at Arms, to Health Benefit Rep., to Treasurer, to Recoding Secretary, to 1st V.P., and now your Executive Vice President, so I have the knowledge of almost every position in the Branch. I will use my knowledge to represent the membership and help teach the new officers how to conduct themselves in different situations. I have the complete confidence in our newly elected President Richard McLehose to take us into the next several years in this turbulent environment that we are in now with the USPS. Every way you turn either local management of management at L’Enfant Plaza is trying to undermine the integrity of the letter carrier and your President along with the entire Executive Board will not let that happen!

     On a personal note, I would like to “thank” the following past full-time officers for all their help over the past 20 years in me achieving this new plateau: Dominck Prestano, Larry Carter, Dave (Double D) Diamond, Nick D’Avanzo and Rick Hubert without their help and knowledge I would not be where I am today!
