Healthplex Dental Plan

     I am sad to inform the members that effective December 31, 2023, the Health plex Dental Plan that the Branch offered through A. R. A. will no longer be offered to the membership.  I took over the Health Plex Dental Plan from then Ex. V.P. Rick Hubert when he retired in 2009 and have enjoyed helping the members and their families with the dental plan and are sad to see it go.      I was told that Health plex Dental was brought out by U. S. Healthcare, and they do not want to keep the contract that they had with A. R. A. and Branch 6000.

      Anyone that has paid a premium will have dental insurance up to the end of the year and nothing has changed with the policy.  If you are paid up for a year and it goes past December 31, 2023, I was told that you would get a pro-rated rebate from U. S. Healthcare on what months after December 31, 2023, that you cannot use.        I have been speaking with Dawn from A.R.A. and she informed me that she is looking into new dental plans from other agencies that the members can purchase.  As of now I have no new information on any new dental plans that will be offered by A. R. A.  As soon as I hear something from A. R. A. on the new dental plans I will write another article and post it on the NALC Branch 6000 website for you to compare prices and services that the new plan(s) will offer.

     I am sorry about any inconvenience this causes to the members and their families but hopefully we will have new dental insurance by the end of the year that you can enroll in at a reasonable cost to you and your family.     If you would like to speak to me, you can contact me at the union office 631-789-1616 and I will try and answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
