Don’t Be Afraid to “Make the Call”

Many of us are feeling the pressure due to everyday changes. These changes can be due to financial problems. The uncertainty of what is happening with this job can cause a lot of undue stress. Many people deal with change differently. Sometimes these changes can rollover into our family life resulting in marital problems. Many times we need to talk to someone to be able cope with all these changes.

The EMPLOYEES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM is here for you and your family.

EMPLOYEES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP) is a service provided by the United States Postal Service. EAP offers assessments: referrals, short-term counseling. EAP also offers work or life consultation for postal employees and their families. All services offered are confidential, voluntary, free, and available to all employees. Professional counselors who provide the services are licensed mental health providers and are not employees of the Postal Service.

You may schedule your first appointment on the clock with your supervisor’s knowledge and approval or, you can schedule it on your own time. This is your choice! You can deal with a clinician housed at a postal facility in your district, or choose a counselor near your home. Scheduling is for your convenience, and satisfaction.

These professional counselors can assist you with issues or problems that can affect your work performance or personal life. They can also help you select other services and resources within your community.

EAP offers counseling for some of the following:

• Work / Job Related Stress

• Anxiety / Depression

• Grief or Bereavement

• Family / Parenting Problem

• Drug or Alcohol Abuse

• Coping with Change

• Financial or Legal Issues

• Childcare or Eldercare

• Marital or Relationship Issues

• Anger / Stress Management

Sometimes we can feel when things are not right. Sometimes we just don’t want to address the problems. It can be easier to deny nothing is wrong. Problems left unresolved can often lead to more serious situations. It can be a greater risk to your health or your job. Why Wait! Why not MAKE THE CALL.
