To Do List

As it has been heavily publicized, we have now been subject to another route adjustment program. This program is called, “TIAREAP”, (Technology Integrated Alternate Route Evaluation and Adjustment Process).

The good thing about this process is that there won’t be a flood of bodies visiting the offices. On the downside, the scanners will be used to tell the story.

With that being said: Scanners, Please get in the habit of using them properly. Make sure you do all of your moves and do them properly on the scanner. Working on another route, move to it on the scanner. Remember these scanners have GPS. The scanner must be kept on your person at all times. They can tell where you are and how long you sit idle.

If your tour of duty starts at 8:00am, that’s when you should be on the floor. Do not work off the clock. Many Carriers will be straightening up their work areas before their day starts. Why? Do nothing for free. Get paid for all your work. And, take your breaks. Breaks are given to you, whether in the office or in the street. Not taking your breaks can affect the times on your route. Take everything that is due you.

Not taking a lunch, fill out a PS Form 3971. This should be done in the morning before leaving for the street. Make Management aware and hand them the form.

As of December 30, 2022, there is no more FSS, (Flat Sorting System).

I am sure you know that Management is trying to cut your office time, but you have work to do. It is now your time to sort and case those flats. Also, don’t forget to work those “spurs”. Spurs are FLATS. You can sort them up to eight per minute. They can be cased and you are allowed to tray them. Do the right thing, and let it work for you.

All the above means time gained, and less time lost towards your route.

Make it work for you. Any forms used such as the 3971 or 3996, keep a copy for your records. Be prepared to answer questions about your route. Nobody knows it better than you.
