2018 Food Drive

On Saturday, May 12, 2018 we had our 26th annual food drive. Once again, working hand and hand with the Long Island Federation of Labor, Island Harvest and the United States Postal Service we had another successful drive.

I would like to thank the Executive Board of Branch 6000 and all my fellow letter carriers for their assistance and support. It is their continued support throughout the years that has made the NALC food drive the most successful in the country. It makes me so proud to be a part of this food drive every year. An extra special thanks to Vice President Tom Siesto, Steven Fiedler, Mary Baer and Richie Lepis for their assistance this year. I would also like to thank everyone who participated in the WBAB perfect lunch hour. And an added special thank you to Donna Donna from WBAB who helps me each year.

This year we managed to collect 320,138 thousand pounds of food during the drive. This food could feed up to 300,000 Long Islanders in need. A group in need which includes; U.S. veterans, senior citizens, and children. Thanks to the collective efforts of those already cited for the hard work and effort in making this all possible. It warms the heart when we join together to help those in need.

Thank you all and may God bless you.
