Bi-Laws Changes

Branch By-Law amendments should be presented in writing at the regular local Branch meeting in April of each year.  These changes must be signed by fifty (50) members in good standing.  In order to be passed, the proposed amendments must be approved by two-thirds (2/3) votes of the members present and voting at the regular scheduled Branch general membership meeting in May.  The May general membership meeting will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018.

 

The following By-Law change was presented at the April 2018 Branch meeting.

 

Propose to amend Article 5, Section 2(l), which presently reads:

 

Section 2(l)

 

The Editor of the Branch shall see that a publication is published and mailed on time at least eight (8) months per year.  The Branch President shall have the option to publish two (2) additional monthly publications at their discretion.  There shall be bi-monthly publications for January/February, May/June, July/August, and November/December.  The Editor may be assisted by a staff appointed by the President.  The salary for the Editor shall be determined by the President, and approved by the Executive Board.

 

New Article 5, Section 2(l) to read:

The salary for the Editor shall be paid up to fifteen (15) hours monthly for work performed in the publication of the Branch newspaper.  For this service, he/she shall be paid at the hourly rate of a Grade 1, Step “O”; full time Letter Carrier.
